Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Plan and Hang ("Plan and Hang", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you visit this website and join our waitlist. Plan and Hang is a closed-group hangout planning app that is not yet publicly available; this site exists to share what we are building and to let you sign up for early access. When the app launches, we will update this policy to cover it and let you know.

We keep collection to a minimum. There are two kinds of information involved.

Information you give us. When you join the waitlist, you provide your email address. That is the only field on the form.

Information collected automatically. When you submit the waitlist form, our hosting provider passes along a few technical details about the request:

• Your approximate location — country, region, and city — derived from your IP address.
• Your IP address.
• Your browser and device type (the "user agent" string).
• The page that referred you to us, if any.

We use these details to understand where signups come from and to catch spam or abuse. We do not use them to build an advertising profile of you.

We use the information above to:

• Save your spot on the waitlist and email you when Plan and Hang is ready, along with occasional updates about its progress.
• Understand which channels and regions our signups come from.
• Detect, prevent, and respond to spam, abuse, and security issues.
• Operate, maintain, and improve this website.

We will not use your email for unrelated marketing, and we will not add you to lists you did not ask for.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the waitlist:

• MongoDB Atlas — hosts the database where waitlist entries are stored.
• Resend — sends the email that notifies our team of a new signup.
• Vercel — hosts this website and provides the approximate-location data described above.

These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

We keep waitlist entries until Plan and Hang launches and you have had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to remove you — whichever comes first. If you ask to be removed, we delete your entry promptly. We may retain minimal records where the law requires it.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls on our database and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the little data we hold safe.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your waitlist information at any time by emailing privacy@planandhang.com. To stop hearing from us, reply to any email we send or contact us at the same address, and we will remove you from the waitlist.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it.
• Request a copy of that information.
• Request that we correct inaccurate information.
• Request that we delete your information.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@planandhang.com. We will verify your request using the email address on file and respond within the timeframes the law requires.

This website and the waitlist are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will remove the entry.

The public pages of this site do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use one essential cookie only in the private admin area, which visitors never see. Joining the waitlist does not set a cookie on your device.

Plan and Hang is operated from the United States. If you access this site from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

As Plan and Hang grows — especially once the app launches — we will update this policy. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist members by email.
